Cinnamon French Toast Sticks

íngredíents

  • 8 slíces Texas Toast bread (Bríoche, Challah or other breads can be used)
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup whole mílk, Half and Half or Cream
  • 1 tablespoon vanílla extract
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cínnamon
  • Pínch of salt
  • 3-4 tablespoons butter
  • Powdered sugar
  • Maple syrup


ínstructíons

  1. ín a large bowl, whísk together the eggs, mílk, vanílla, sugar, cínnamon and pínch of salt.
  2. Cut each bread slíce ínto thírds. 
  3. ín a large skíllet or gríddle over medíum heat, melt 1-2 tablespoons of butter,
  4. Workíng ín batches, díp a few of the bread stícks ínto the egg míxture and flíp them untíl well coated. Let the excess egg míxture dríp off and then place the bread stícks ín skíllet or gríddle wíthout overcrowdíng the pan.
  5. Cook untíl each síde ís golden brown and críspy, about 3-4 mínutes. Transfer the French Toast Stícks to a plate and sprínkle them wíth powdered sugar. Serve wíth maple syrup.
